Retail and cafe roles are widely available in towns and cities, although competition and living costs are higher in London and the southeast. British culture values politeness, punctuality, personal space and queuing, while communities are generally multicultural. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to quieter coastal and countryside areas, with good public transport in major cities. Most visitors need appropriate immigration permission before working. UK and Irish citizens have the right to work; eligible overseas applicants may need a sponsored visa, while short-term visitor status does not permit employment. Before relocating, check visa rules, employment rights, accommodation costs, taxes, healthcare access and transport. A job offer, proof of funds and identity documents may be required.
