Company Info

Tesco is one of the United Kingdom’s largest retailers, serving millions of customers through supermarkets, convenience stores and online channels. Founded in 1919, the company sells groceries, household products, clothing and other everyday goods, while also operating services such as pharmacies, banking and fuel stations. Tesco employs a large national workforce and focuses on value, convenience, responsible sourcing and reliable customer service. Its pharmacies provide prescription services, health advice, medicines support and other healthcare offerings within selected stores. Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in retail, healthcare, technology, logistics, finance and hospitality, with strong demand for qualified pharmacists and experienced managers. British culture is diverse and generally values punctuality, personal privacy, polite communication and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from busy cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham to quieter towns and rural areas; public transport is widely available, though a car can be useful outside major centres. Living costs are highest in London and the southeast, while towns such as Leighton Buzzard may offer a more moderate balance. UK employers require proof of the right to work. Overseas pharmacists usually need General Pharmaceutical Council registration, recognised qualifications, English-language evidence and potentially a Skilled Worker visa with an eligible sponsoring employer. Before relocating, check current salary thresholds, visa rules, registration requirements, accommodation costs, healthcare access and taxation. The UK has four nations, distinct local cultures and mild but changeable weather.
