Founded in 1919, the company sells food, household goods, clothing, financial products, and other everyday essentials. Its extensive distribution and fulfilment network supports stores and online customer orders across the country. Tesco employs a large and diverse workforce in retail, logistics, technology, customer service, commercial, and corporate roles. Warehouse colleagues are an important part of the business because they help ensure products are picked, handled, and delivered safely and efficiently.

Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers job opportunities across retail, warehousing, logistics, technology, healthcare, construction, hospitality, and professional services. Its culture is diverse, generally polite and multicultural, with strong regional differences in food, traditions, and lifestyles. Living costs are highest in London and parts of southeast England, while many northern cities, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland can be more affordable. Public transport is widely available, although a car may help for warehouse jobs outside major towns. Most overseas workers need a visa and should check current UK immigration rules; warehouse operative roles do not automatically qualify for sponsorship. A sponsored worker normally needs an eligible occupation, an approved employer, and the required salary and English-language qualifications. Relocating also requires planning for accommodation, tax, healthcare, banking, and right-to-work checks.
