Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers strong opportunities in software engineering, data, cloud computing, retail technology and financial services, particularly in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Leeds. Workplace culture is generally professional, collaborative and relatively informal, with growing acceptance of hybrid working. Lifestyle options range from busy city living to quieter rural communities, supported by extensive public transport, historic towns, diverse food and cultural events. Living costs are highest in London and the southeast. International candidates normally need permission to work; eligible technology roles may qualify for the Skilled Worker visa if the employer is an approved sponsor and the role and salary meet immigration rules. Relocation planning should include housing, council tax, transport, healthcare registration and possible visa fees. Tesco’s recruitment team can confirm sponsorship and location arrangements for the specific vacancy.
