Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers opportunities across healthcare, retail, technology, engineering, logistics, finance and education. Its culture combines historic traditions with diverse, multicultural communities, while everyday life varies between busy cities, coastal towns and quieter rural areas. Public transport is widely available, although car ownership can be useful outside major urban centres. The UK provides the National Health Service, extensive shopping and many cultural, sporting and outdoor activities. International applicants normally need the appropriate visa and the right to work before starting employment. Healthcare professionals must meet UK regulatory requirements; pharmacists generally need General Pharmaceutical Council registration and may need qualification recognition or further assessment. Living costs are highest in London and the southeast, while places such as Grimsby can be comparatively affordable.
