The Duty Pharmacy Manager is responsible for safely and effectively running the pharmacy in a Tesco store in Edinburgh, including dispensing, clinical services, compliance, stock management, customer care and supporting store performance. Candidates should be a qualified and GPhC-registered pharmacist with appropriate UK pharmacy experience, strong clinical knowledge and an understanding of legal and professional standards. Company Info

Tesco is one of the United Kingdom’s largest retailers, serving millions of customers through supermarkets, convenience stores and online channels. Founded in 1919, the company sells groceries, household products, clothing and other services, including pharmacy provision in many stores. Tesco employs a large workforce across the UK and several international markets, with a strong focus on value, convenience, customer service and responsible business practices. Its pharmacies provide prescription services, professional advice, health checks and a range of clinical support. Employees may receive benefits such as colleague discounts, pension contributions, holiday entitlement and structured learning opportunities, although details vary by role and contract. Tesco generally values teamwork, inclusion, reliability and customer-focused decision-making. A pharmacy manager therefore combines professional healthcare responsibilities with the operational and people-management expectations of a major retail environment.

Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in healthcare, retail, technology, finance, engineering, education, logistics and hospitality. Edinburgh has a strong economy, historic architecture, festivals, universities and access to beautiful countryside, while living costs and rents can be high. British culture is generally polite, diverse and multicultural, with a strong pub, sports, music and community tradition. The lifestyle offers excellent public transport, national health services, coastal areas and varied landscapes across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Overseas pharmacists normally need relevant qualifications, GPhC registration and the legal right to work in the UK. A Skilled Worker visa may be possible where an employer is an approved sponsor and the role meets immigration requirements, but sponsorship should be confirmed directly with Tesco. Applicants should also check qualification recognition, English-language requirements, visa fees, housing costs and taxation before relocating.
