Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in healthcare, retail, technology, engineering, logistics, hospitality and professional services, with London and major cities often providing the widest choice. British culture combines local traditions, multicultural communities, historic towns and a strong emphasis on personal privacy and punctuality. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to quieter rural communities, with good public transport in many areas and access to countryside, coastline and cultural attractions. International workers generally need the appropriate visa before starting employment. Skilled professionals may qualify for the Skilled Worker route if they have an eligible occupation, an approved sponsor and meet salary requirements. Pharmacists must register with the General Pharmaceutical Council and may need qualification recognition and English-language evidence. Relocating involves arranging accommodation, healthcare access, banking, tax registration and transport. The UK has a temperate climate, relatively high housing costs in major cities and regional differences in living expenses.
