NUS is internationally recognised for research excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and strong partnerships with industry and universities worldwide. Its School of Computing is a major centre for research and teaching in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, information systems, computer systems, and software engineering. Employees work in a highly international environment with access to modern facilities, interdisciplinary projects, and opportunities to contribute to research with regional and global impact.
Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in technology, research, finance, healthcare, education, logistics, and biotechnology. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its festivals, neighbourhoods, and excellent food. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and urban, with reliable public transport, modern healthcare, shopping, parks, beaches, and easy regional travel. Housing is the main expense, especially near the central area; shared accommodation can reduce costs. Foreign professionals usually need an Employment Pass, while researchers may use an appropriate work pass sponsored by the university. Bring certified qualifications and allow time for pass processing and accommodation arrangements. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with heavier rain during monsoon periods. English is widely used in workplaces and daily life, making relocation relatively straightforward.
