Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, well-connected island with strong opportunities in technology, finance, education, healthcare, logistics, hospitality and research. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in the food, festivals and languages. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and urban, with excellent public transport, modern shopping areas, parks, beaches and a vibrant dining scene. Housing is the main expense, especially near central districts, although public apartments and suburban areas can be more affordable. Employment generally requires an employer-sponsored pass, such as an Employment Pass for eligible professional roles or an S Pass for some mid-skilled positions; approval depends on salary, qualifications and government criteria. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, healthcare insurance and tax registration. Singapore’s warm, humid climate, high living standards and regional travel access make it attractive for international professionals and relocating families.
