Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in education, research, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, hospitality and public-sector administration. The culture is multicultural and orderly, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Employees can enjoy efficient public transport, excellent healthcare, safe neighbourhoods, hawker food, shopping, parks and easy access to regional travel. The lifestyle is convenient but relatively expensive, especially for housing. Employment usually requires an employer-sponsored work pass: professionals commonly use the Employment Pass, while some roles may qualify for the S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government requirements. Relocating workers should budget for rent, deposits, insurance, transport and school costs if moving with family. Popular residential areas include Queenstown, Clementi, Bishan, Bukit Timah and the city centre. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
