Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in banking, shared services, technology, finance, manufacturing, tourism and professional services, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor. The country blends Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures, with diverse food, festivals and generally welcoming communities. Urban life is convenient and affordable compared with many regional financial centres, while beaches, rainforests and islands such as Langkawi, Tioman and Perhentian provide easy weekend escapes. Kuala Lumpur is the main employment hub, with modern transport, international schools, hospitals and varied housing. Foreign professionals usually require an employer-sponsored Employment Pass; the employer normally handles the application, and approval depends on role, salary and qualifications. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules, tax obligations and healthcare arrangements before relocating. English is widely used in business, while Malay is the national language.
