Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in aviation, logistics, hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare and professional services. As a multicultural city-state, it blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals and languages. Life is convenient and generally safe, with efficient public transport, modern healthcare and many shopping, dining and outdoor options. Housing and daily expenses can be high, particularly in central areas, although public transport is affordable and neighbourhoods such as Jurong, Tampines and Woodlands may offer better value. Foreign interns and employees need the appropriate pass, commonly a Training Employment Pass, Work Holiday Pass or Employment Pass, depending on eligibility, duration and salary. Employers usually guide applicants through the process. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, insurance, banking and a local SIM card before or soon after arrival.
