Destination Guide

Spain’s main island job markets are the Balearic Islands, especially Mallorca, and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Opportunities are common in tourism, hospitality, retail, transport, warehousing, freight forwarding, customer service and renewable energy. The islands offer a relaxed lifestyle, mild weather, outdoor activities and strong local traditions, although housing can be expensive in popular areas and seasonal employment is widespread. Spanish is important for daily life and many local roles; English and other languages are valuable in tourism and international logistics. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens generally need registration but no work visa. Non-EU applicants need an appropriate work and residence permit, normally arranged with employer support. Before relocating, check salary against rent, confirm the island and worksite, arrange accommodation, obtain a Spanish tax number and register for social security. Ferry and air links connect the islands with mainland Spain.
