Destination Guide

Thailand’s islands, including Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi’s islands, Koh Phangan, and Koh Chang, offer work in tourism, hotels, restaurants, retail, transport, diving, and digital services. Bangkok and major mainland cities generally provide more stable logistics and corporate opportunities, while island employment is often seasonal and lower paid. Island life is relaxed, social, and outdoor-oriented, with beaches, local markets, Buddhist traditions, and strong regional food cultures. Costs vary: Phuket and Samui can be expensive, while smaller islands may be cheaper but have fewer services. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit before starting employment; tourist visas do not allow work. Relocating employees should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, healthcare, taxes, and transport arrangements. Learning basic Thai, respecting local customs, and preparing for hot, humid weather will make the transition easier.
