Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers varied hospitality opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, event venues and tourism businesses, particularly in London, major cities and popular rural destinations. Its culture is diverse and generally informal, with strong traditions around pubs, sport, music, history and local festivals. Life can be busy and expensive in the southeast, while other regions may offer lower living costs. Public transport is extensive, although a car can be useful for countryside hotels such as Hanbury Manor. Most overseas applicants need the legal right to work, commonly through a Skilled Worker visa if the role and employer qualify; sponsorship is not guaranteed for every position. Applicants should check current UK government rules, salary thresholds and employer sponsorship status. Relocating requires planning for accommodation, tax, banking, healthcare registration and National Insurance. English is normally essential for guest-facing event work.
