German speaking Diving instructor for 5* PADi Dive Center in Maldives.

Maldives Padi Approximately $1,000–$2,000 per month, often supplemented by commissions, tips, accommodation, meals, and other resort benefits.*
Job Description

The role requires a recognized professional scuba diving qualification, such as PADI Instructor certification, current teaching status, strong English communication, and fluent German. Candidates should have extensive diving experience, excellent customer-service skills, and the ability to teach and guide divers safely in varied tropical conditions. Experience in a five-star resort, knowledge of additional languages, and specialties such as deep, wreck, nitrox, or enriched-air diving may be advantageous. The instructor is expected to conduct PADI courses, guided dives, briefings, equipment checks, and guest activities while following strict safety and environmental standards. A friendly, flexible, professional attitude and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and in a multicultural resort environment are essential.

Company Info

PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, is the world's largest recreational diving training organization. It develops diver education programs, instructor standards, safety procedures, and certification systems delivered through affiliated dive centers and resorts worldwide. PADI itself generally operates as a certification agency, while employment contracts for instructors are usually issued by an individual PADI Five Star Dive Center or resort. PADI-affiliated centers are expected to follow established teaching and safety standards and provide structured training from beginner courses through professional-level programs. In the Maldives, these centers typically combine scuba instruction, guided reef and boat diving, equipment rental, and guest experiences within luxury resort operations. The advertised position therefore offers the opportunity to represent the PADI system while working directly with international holidaymakers in a high-end tropical diving environment.

Destination Guide

The Maldives is an archipelago of coral islands known for clear water, manta rays, whale sharks, reefs, and luxury resort tourism. Diving instructors can find work at resort dive centers, local islands, liveaboards, watersports facilities, and marine-conservation projects, although many positions are seasonal and competition is international. Resort life is comfortable but remote: accommodation and meals are commonly provided, while working hours can be busy during peak travel periods. Maldivian culture is predominantly Muslim, so modest clothing and respect for local customs are important, especially on inhabited local islands; alcohol is generally restricted to resorts and liveaboards. Employees normally need a work permit sponsored by their employer. A tourist entry permit does not authorize employment, and the employer typically manages immigration and labor documentation. Before relocating, confirm contract terms, medical insurance, flights, internet access, leave arrangements, and whether accommodation is private or shared.
