Duties may include reef monitoring, conservation projects, environmental education, guest presentations, guided snorkeling or diving activities, data collection and supporting sustainability initiatives. Company Info

PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, is the world's largest recreational diving training organization and a leading authority in scuba education, diver safety and marine conservation. Founded in 1966, PADI supports dive centers, resorts, instructors and professionals in more than 180 countries. Its certification system ranges from beginner courses to professional-level training, while its environmental programs encourage divers and businesses to protect ocean ecosystems. PADI also operates a global jobs platform connecting qualified diving, marine science, hospitality and watersports professionals with employers. For a Maldives-based position advertised through PADI, the actual day-to-day employer may be a resort, dive center or marine conservation partner rather than PADI's headquarters. Employment terms, accommodation, benefits and salary should therefore be confirmed directly with the hiring organization.

Destination Guide

The Maldives offers opportunities in marine biology, diving, snorkeling, resort operations, hospitality, watersports, conservation, guest services and tourism management. Life is centered around small coral islands, with resort islands generally more international and local islands more community-focused. Dhivehi is the national language, while English is widely used in tourism; Chinese language skills can be valuable in guest-facing roles. Resort life is scenic but remote, and work often includes shared staff accommodation, meals, uniforms and boat transfers. Alcohol is restricted on local islands but available at licensed resorts. Foreign employees normally require employer sponsorship and a valid Maldives work permit; entering as a tourist and working without authorization is not permitted. Candidates should confirm medical checks, insurance, flights, contract length and permit arrangements before relocating. Malé has the country's main airport, healthcare, shopping and transport connections.
