Job Description

The Assistant Chief Steward supports the Chief Steward in managing the hotel’s stewarding operation, including dishwashing, kitchen sanitation, waste handling, equipment care and hygiene standards. The role typically requires hospitality or kitchen stewarding experience, knowledge of food-safety procedures, and the ability to supervise and train team members. Candidates should be organised, physically fit, dependable and comfortable working shifts, weekends and public holidays. Strong teamwork, communication skills and attention to cleanliness are essential. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a safe, efficient back-of-house environment, control supplies, coordinate with culinary departments and ensure Marriott service and sanitation standards are consistently followed.
