Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak, especially in housekeeping, food and beverage, front office and resort operations. The country has a multicultural society influenced by Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous traditions, with excellent food and generally welcoming communities. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed island and coastal environments; costs are usually lower outside central Kuala Lumpur. Popular islands such as Langkawi, Penang and the Perhentians offer beaches, diving and tourism work, although seasonal employment is common. Foreign workers generally need a valid employment pass or work permit arranged by the employer before starting work. Applicants should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, transport, medical requirements and contract terms. Putrajaya is inland rather than an island, but it provides convenient access to Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia’s west-coast destinations.
