Destination Guide

Kuching is located in Sarawak on Malaysian Borneo, an attractive destination for hospitality workers seeking a relaxed city lifestyle close to rainforests, rivers, beaches, and national parks. Job opportunities are concentrated in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, healthcare, education, construction, and service businesses. Sarawak’s culture is diverse, combining Malay, Chinese, Indigenous, and other communities, with festivals, markets, local food, and strong community traditions. Living costs are generally lower than in Kuala Lumpur, although wages can also be more modest. Malaysia’s climate is tropical, warm, and humid, with seasonal heavy rain. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and must meet immigration and medical requirements; they should not work on a tourist visa. Relocation planning should include accommodation, transport, insurance, document verification, and confirmation of benefits before accepting an offer.
