Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities across Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness businesses and tourism operators regularly recruit housekeeping, food service, front office, engineering and guest-relations staff. Putrajaya is modern, organized and quieter than Kuala Lumpur, with warm weather, good roads and access to shopping and city amenities. Malaysian culture is multicultural, blending Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with diverse food and religious celebrations. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur and resort islands can be more expensive. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored employment pass or appropriate work permit before starting work; requirements vary by nationality and position. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical checks, contract terms and visa arrangements directly with the employer. English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is the national language.
