Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hospitality, engineering, tourism, technology, manufacturing, and shared services. Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya provide the widest professional options, while Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak are strong destinations for tourism and resort work. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels and business. Living costs are moderate compared with many international cities, though central Kuala Lumpur and resort islands can be more expensive. Malaysia has tropical weather, excellent food, efficient shopping and transport in major cities, and easy access to beaches and nature. Foreign interns usually need the correct internship, training, or employment pass, arranged with support from the host organization; requirements vary by nationality and program. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, insurance, local transport, and allowance details before relocating.
