Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf country with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, construction, aviation, retail, technology, and facility management. Although it is not an island, it offers beaches, desert landscapes, mountain areas, and diverse city life across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the northern emirates. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected. Lifestyle can range from resort-based and quiet to highly urban, with excellent shopping, dining, transport, and leisure facilities. Employers normally arrange an employment visa and work permit after hiring, subject to UAE requirements. Relocating workers should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, medical insurance, probation terms, and annual leave in writing. Costs vary considerably, with Dubai generally more expensive than Ras Al Khaimah.
