Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf federation rather than an island, with Dubai offering particularly strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, events, restaurants, aviation, retail, and business services. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values, and a highly international workforce; respectful dress and behaviour are expected, especially during Ramadan. Dubai provides beaches, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, desert excursions, and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot and accommodation can be expensive. Most international employees work under employer-sponsored residence visas. The employer generally arranges the entry permit, medical examination, Emirates ID, and work permit, while sponsorship rules and costs should be confirmed in the offer. Candidates should budget for deposits, transport, and initial living expenses, and verify whether accommodation, meals, insurance, flights, and gratuity are included. English is widely used in hospitality, while Arabic and other languages are useful advantages.
