Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than a single island, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai offering the widest range of hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation and business opportunities. The country has a multicultural population, modern infrastructure and a culture shaped by Emirati traditions and Islamic values. Respectful dress, especially in traditional areas, and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Lifestyle options include beaches, desert activities, international dining, shopping and major sporting and entertainment events. Employers normally sponsor an employment visa, residence permit and work authorization after hiring; requirements commonly include passport documents, medical screening and attested qualifications where applicable. Many hotels provide accommodation or an allowance, meals, transport, insurance and annual leave, but benefits vary. New arrivals should confirm contract terms, housing, working hours and recruitment costs before relocating.
