Destination Guide

Grand Cayman has a strong hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, and marine-services economy, with regular opportunities in hotels, restaurants, guest services, watersports, administration, and professional services. The culture is welcoming and internationally minded, combining Caymanian traditions with influences from many expatriate communities. Lifestyle highlights include warm weather, beaches, snorkeling, diving, boating, and a generally safe, relaxed environment. Housing and daily expenses are high, especially in George Town and near Seven Mile Beach, so accommodation and benefits should be confirmed before accepting an offer. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit, and the employer generally handles the application; working without authorization is not permitted. Candidates should verify permit eligibility, medical and police-clearance requirements, contract terms, insurance, flights, and relocation assistance. Public transport is available but limited outside main areas, making reliable transport useful. Cayman’s currency is the Cayman Islands dollar, which is pegged to the US dollar.
