Destination Guide

The Cayman Islands offer hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, construction, healthcare and professional-services opportunities, with luxury resorts providing many roles for experienced international candidates. Caymanian culture blends Caribbean traditions with British influence and a highly international community. Life is generally safe, comfortable and English-speaking, with excellent beaches, boating, diving, restaurants and outdoor activities. Grand Cayman is convenient but relatively expensive, particularly for housing, groceries and transportation; many residents use cars. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment, and the employer generally handles the application. Approval is not automatic and may depend on local recruitment requirements, qualifications and immigration rules. Relocating candidates should confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, insurance, flights, probation terms and permit responsibilities in writing. Dependants may require separate immigration arrangements, and employment status can affect their right to work.
