Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, and healthcare. Desaru Coast is on the southeastern coast of Johor rather than an island, with beaches, water activities, golf, and a quieter lifestyle than Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia’s culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous traditions, with Bahasa Malaysia and English widely used in hospitality. Living costs are generally moderate, although resort areas can be more expensive than smaller inland towns. Foreign workers normally need an employment offer and employer-sponsored work authorisation before starting work; requirements depend on nationality and job category, so candidates should confirm details with the employer and Malaysian authorities. Relocation planning should include accommodation, transport, medical coverage, banking, and local registration. Johor Bahru provides larger shopping, healthcare, and transport facilities, while Singapore is accessible but immigration rules apply.
