Destination Guide

Qatar is a modern Gulf country rather than an island, with Doha as its main commercial and employment centre. Hospitality, construction, aviation, retail, healthcare, engineering, and professional services provide many job opportunities, especially for experienced international workers. The culture is respectful and family-oriented, with Islamic traditions influencing dress, public behaviour, and working life. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are mild and suitable for outdoor activities, beaches, desert trips, and city sightseeing. Housing, transport, and healthcare can be expensive, so employer-provided accommodation and benefits are valuable. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit; the company normally manages the application, medical checks, and documentation. Bring certified qualifications and a valid passport, and confirm the contract, benefits, working hours, and recruitment fees before relocating. English is widely used in hotels, while Arabic is the official language.
