Destination Guide

Qatar is a small, modern Gulf country on the Arabian Peninsula rather than an island, with Doha as its main employment and cultural center. Hospitality, construction, aviation, retail, healthcare, education, technology, and energy provide many job opportunities. The culture is welcoming but conservative: modest clothing is expected in public, Islamic customs should be respected, and alcohol is restricted to licensed venues. Life in Doha offers modern shopping malls, beaches, museums, desert trips, international restaurants, and excellent air connections, although summers are extremely hot. Employers commonly arrange work visas, residence permits, accommodation, transport, medical checks, and sometimes flights. Before relocating, confirm the contract, benefits, probation terms, visa sponsorship, and whether housing is shared. Qatar has no personal income tax on employees, but living costs can be high without employer-provided accommodation.
