Destination Guide

Fiji offers hospitality, tourism, farming, marine recreation, construction, healthcare, education, and retail opportunities, with many jobs concentrated around Nadi, Denarau, Suva, and the Coral Coast. Fijian culture is welcoming and community-focused, blending iTaukei traditions, Indo-Fijian heritage, church life, music, dance, and shared meals. Lifestyle is relaxed, outdoors-oriented, and shaped by warm weather, beaches, villages, and strong family connections. Living costs vary; imported goods and accommodation in resort areas can be expensive, while staff housing may reduce expenses. Foreign workers generally need an approved employment contract and work permit before starting employment. Employers may assist with applications, but requirements should be confirmed with Fiji’s immigration authorities. Relocating staff should arrange passports, medical documents, insurance, funds for initial expenses, and reliable transport information. Respect local customs, dress appropriately in villages, and learn basic Fijian greetings.
