The Cook prepares fresh, high-quality meals for hotel guests and associates while following recipes, presentation standards, food-safety procedures and portion controls. Typical requirements include commercial kitchen experience, sound knowledge of cooking methods, safe food-handling practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment. An Australian food-safety certificate and relevant hospitality qualification are advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to maintain clean workstations, monitor stock, reduce wastage, support the kitchen team, and communicate professionally with supervisors and colleagues. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays is usually required.
