Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a Gulf country rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, and facilities management. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international workforce; modest dress, respectful behavior, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches, healthcare, and entertainment, although summers are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Employers usually sponsor a work visa, residence permit, medical examination, Emirates ID, and often provide accommodation or an allowance, transport, meals, and insurance. Do not work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm the written contract, salary, benefits, probation terms, accommodation, working hours, and recruitment fees. Dubai is well connected internationally, and employees should budget for deposits, personal expenses, and initial settling-in costs.
