Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact city-island with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, and retail. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and neighbourhoods. Sentosa offers beaches, attractions, restaurants, and a relaxed resort atmosphere, while central Singapore provides efficient public transport, shopping, nightlife, and diverse dining. The climate is hot and humid throughout the year, with frequent rain. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; eligibility depends on the role, salary, qualifications, and prevailing government criteria. Employers usually guide successful applicants through the application process. New arrivals should budget carefully for accommodation, as rental costs can be high, and should arrange a local bank account, mobile plan, insurance, and transport card. English is widely used in workplaces and daily life.
