Company Info

Pier One Sydney Harbour is an upscale waterfront hotel located beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the historic Walsh Bay precinct. It forms part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, a portfolio of distinctive independent-style hotels connected by Marriott’s global standards, systems and loyalty network. The property combines heritage architecture with contemporary accommodation, harbour views, restaurants, bars and event spaces. Its location attracts leisure travellers, business guests, wedding parties and visitors attending major Sydney events. As an Autograph Collection property, Pier One places emphasis on character, personalised service and memorable guest experiences rather than a standardised hotel design. Employees typically work in a high-volume luxury hospitality setting with opportunities for professional development through Marriott’s international training and career programs.

Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, restaurants, hotels and events, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast and regional resort areas. Workplace culture is generally practical, team-oriented and informal, while punctuality, safety, customer service and responsible alcohol practices are taken seriously. Sydney provides an active urban lifestyle, beaches, outdoor recreation, multicultural dining and a relatively high cost of living, especially for rent. Applicants need a visa allowing work; options may include employer sponsorship, a Working Holiday visa for eligible nationalities, or skilled and temporary work visas. Requirements vary by occupation and personal circumstances, so candidates should check current information through the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Relocating usually involves arranging accommodation, tax and banking details, health cover, transport and required hospitality certifications such as Responsible Service of Alcohol training.
