Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology and healthcare. The culture is multicultural, English-friendly and generally orderly, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences visible in food, festivals and daily life. Residents enjoy efficient public transport, safe neighbourhoods, excellent dining, shopping, parks and easy access to regional destinations. Living costs, especially rent, are relatively high, so employer accommodation or housing support can be valuable. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and government requirements. Employers normally handle the application. Before relocating, confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, medical coverage, working hours and pass sponsorship, and prepare for a warm, humid climate year-round.
