Destination Guide

Maldives resort islands offer opportunities in housekeeping, food and beverage, culinary work, engineering, spa, marine activities, finance, and guest services. Resorts employ people from across the Maldives and overseas, creating a highly international workplace. Local culture is shaped by Islam, island community life, fishing traditions, and strong hospitality values; modest dress and respectful behavior are important outside resort areas. Resort life is beautiful but structured, with shared staff accommodation, long shifts, limited shopping, and travel usually arranged by boat or seaplane. Foreign employees generally require an employer-sponsored work visa and must complete medical and immigration procedures before or after arrival. Employers commonly provide accommodation, meals, airport transfers, and return-flight terms, but candidates should confirm salary, service charge, leave, insurance, and visa costs in writing before relocating.
