Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are common in hotels, restaurants, housekeeping, engineering, tourism, events, retail, and aviation. The culture is multicultural and generally respectful, while Islamic customs, modest public behaviour, and local laws should be observed. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, nightlife, desert activities, and excellent transport, but rent and summer heat can be challenging. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer normally arranges entry approval, medical testing, Emirates ID, and labour documentation. Do not work on a tourist visa. Confirm whether accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, flights, and gratuity are included before relocating. Keep passport and contract copies, budget for deposits and living costs, and verify the offer through official Marriott or property recruitment channels.
