Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of hotel, tourism, retail, aviation, and restaurant jobs. Life is modern, international, and fast-paced, with excellent public transport in major cities, hot summers, extensive shopping, beaches, and many expatriate communities. Emirati culture values hospitality, family, modesty, and respect for Islamic traditions; workplace cultures are typically multicultural. A UAE employer normally arranges an employment entry permit, medical testing, Emirates ID, and residence visa after hiring. Employees should confirm who pays recruitment, visa, accommodation, transport, and medical costs before accepting an offer. Bring certified documents, sufficient initial funds, and copies of your passport and contract. Dubai living can be expensive, but employer-provided accommodation and meals can substantially reduce costs.
