Destination Guide

The Philippines offers career opportunities in business-process services, technology, consulting, finance, healthcare, tourism, engineering, and remote work. Metro Manila, including Taguig and nearby Bonifacio Global City, is the main corporate hub, while Cebu and other cities have growing IT and services sectors. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and relationship-focused. Urban life provides extensive dining, shopping, nightlife, and transport options, although traffic and seasonal flooding can be challenging. The country’s islands offer beaches, diving, hiking, and a slower lifestyle, but infrastructure and connectivity vary outside major cities. Foreign employees usually need an appropriate work visa or permit sponsored or supported by their employer; requirements depend on nationality and contract type. Relocating workers should budget for housing, healthcare, transport, and documentation, and verify current immigration rules before moving.
