Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with major employment centers in Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. Metro Manila, including Taguig and Bonifacio Global City, offers the widest range of opportunities in consulting, finance, technology, shared services, marketing, and multinational companies. Cebu and Davao are important alternatives with growing business-process, technology, tourism, and services sectors. Filipino culture is generally welcoming, family-oriented, English-friendly, and relationship-driven. Urban lifestyles can be fast-paced, with varied housing, dining, and entertainment, while the islands offer beaches, nature, and a lower-cost lifestyle outside Manila. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly arranged through the company; requirements vary by nationality and role. Relocating candidates should budget for rent, transport, healthcare, and deposits, and confirm tax, immigration, and employment terms before moving.
