Destination Guide

Malta offers strong opportunities in financial services, accounting, audit, consulting, technology, iGaming, tourism, maritime services, and customer operations. English is an official language and is widely used at work, while Maltese is the national language. The lifestyle combines a Mediterranean climate, historic towns, beaches, outdoor activities, and a busy social scene, although traffic, limited housing supply, and summer heat can be challenging. EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals generally do not need a visa but must complete local registration requirements. Non-EU nationals usually need a confirmed job offer and a single work permit, with the employer involved in the application. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, deposits, transport, healthcare, and residence administration. Malta is well connected by air and ferry, making travel around Europe convenient.
