Company Info

EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is a global professional-services organization providing assurance, consulting, strategy and transactions, and tax services. Its technology consulting practice helps organizations modernize systems, manage technology risk, improve cybersecurity and use digital solutions to support business growth. EY operates across many industries, serving governments, large enterprises and growing businesses through international and local teams. In Ireland, the firm has a significant presence in Dublin and other locations, with opportunities spanning cybersecurity, technology transformation, data, finance and business consulting. The company generally offers structured career development, professional training, certification support and opportunities to work with multinational clients. This position sits within EY’s UK and Ireland technology consulting network, where penetration testers typically combine hands-on security testing with advisory work, stakeholder engagement and delivery responsibilities.

Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in cybersecurity, technology consulting, software, finance, pharmaceuticals and multinational operations, particularly around Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. Its culture is friendly, social and community-oriented, with English widely spoken and a strong tradition of music, sport and hospitality. Lifestyle options range from lively cities to quiet coastal and rural areas, although housing costs and availability—especially in Dublin—can be challenging. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens generally do not need an employment permit. Non-EEA professionals usually require an employment permit, commonly a Critical Skills Employment Permit where the role and salary qualify; an employment visa may also be needed before arrival. Relocating typically involves securing a job offer, arranging accommodation, obtaining a Personal Public Service number and opening a bank account. Ireland’s public transport is improving, but a car can be useful outside major cities. Weather is mild but changeable, with frequent rain.
