Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, financial services, software, data, pharmaceuticals and multinational operations, with Dublin serving as the main employment hub. Cork, Galway and Limerick also have growing technology and life-sciences communities. Irish workplace culture is generally friendly, collaborative and relatively informal, although consulting roles can involve demanding deadlines and client travel. The lifestyle combines lively cities, historic towns, coastal scenery and easy access to outdoor activities. Housing, especially in Dublin, is expensive and competitive, so securing accommodation requires planning and budgeting. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa. Most non-EU nationals need an employment permit; highly skilled technology professionals may qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit, subject to salary and occupation requirements. Relocating workers should arrange immigration permission, tax registration, banking, healthcare information and accommodation before or soon after arrival.
