Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, financial services, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cybersecurity and data analytics. Dublin is the main employment hub, while Cork, Galway and Limerick also have growing technology and multinational sectors. Irish workplace culture is generally collaborative, informal and relationship-oriented, with English widely used in professional settings. The lifestyle combines lively cities, music and sport with easy access to coastlines, countryside and historic towns. Housing, particularly in Dublin, is expensive and competitive, so relocation planning and budgeting are important. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa. Non-EU nationals generally need an employment permit, with roles on the Critical Skills list offering a relatively direct route for eligible professionals and possible family reunification. Applicants should confirm permit eligibility, healthcare arrangements, tax obligations and accommodation before moving. Public transport is strongest in Dublin, while a car can be useful elsewhere.
