Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, financial services, pharmaceuticals, cybersecurity, data and multinational operations, particularly in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. The culture is generally friendly, conversational and community-oriented, with a strong social and music scene. Lifestyle benefits include attractive countryside, coastal landscapes, historic towns and easy access to Europe, although Dublin accommodation and rent can be expensive. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can live and work without a visa. Non-EEA professionals usually need an employment permit, commonly a Critical Skills Employment Permit for eligible technology and specialist roles; an employment contract and salary thresholds apply. Successful applicants must also arrange immigration registration, tax details, housing and healthcare access. Relocating early is advisable because rental demand is high. Public transport is best in Dublin, while owning a car is more useful outside major cities.
