Lifestyle varies from busy cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham to quieter rural areas; living costs are generally lower outside southeast England. Employers may require right-to-work evidence, identity checks, references, criminal-record screening and relevant qualifications. Before relocating, arrange accommodation, a National Insurance number, banking and healthcare registration. Public transport is extensive, although a car may be useful in rural locations.
