Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers employment opportunities across health and social care, technology, engineering, finance, hospitality and education. Its culture is diverse, with strong traditions in sport, music, literature and community life, while workplaces generally value punctuality, respect and clear communication. Lifestyle varies from busy cities such as London, Manchester and Edinburgh to quieter coastal and rural areas. Rent and transport costs can be high, especially in southern England. Citizens of many countries need immigration permission before working. Care roles may have specific visa rules, and new overseas applications for some care-worker occupations have been restricted, so candidates should check current GOV.UK requirements and whether an employer is licensed to sponsor workers. Relocation usually involves arranging a visa, accommodation, National Insurance number, bank account and relevant care checks or registration.
