Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers extensive opportunities in healthcare, life sciences, technology, education, finance and skilled trades, with NHS roles available across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Its culture is diverse and generally values punctuality, privacy, fairness and work-life balance. Lifestyle ranges from busy cities and coastal communities to rural areas, with strong public transport in many regions, although housing can be expensive near London and major university hospitals. International healthcare professionals usually need the appropriate visa, commonly the Health and Care Worker visa, employer sponsorship, NMC registration and proof of English-language competence. Nurses may need to complete overseas registration requirements, including document checks, a test and an objective structured clinical examination. Candidates should budget for accommodation, transport, visa fees and initial relocation costs.
