Company Info

Harlequin Surgery is an NHS general practice in the United Kingdom, providing comprehensive primary healthcare to its registered patient population. As a GP surgery, its services typically include routine consultations, urgent clinical assessment, long-term condition reviews, health checks, immunisations, screening, women’s and men’s health services, prescribing and referrals to specialist or community care. The practice works within the NHS primary-care framework and is supported by a multidisciplinary team that may include GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, receptionists and administrative staff. A salaried GP would normally contribute to clinical sessions, patient reviews, practice administration, safeguarding, clinical governance and service development. Specific services, working arrangements, benefits and team structure should be confirmed directly with Harlequin Surgery during the recruitment process.

Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers substantial opportunities for GPs across NHS practices, hospitals, private providers and locum agencies, with demand varying by region. Life combines historic towns, multicultural cities, countryside and coast, with generally strong public transport and access to education and healthcare. Working culture is professional, team-oriented and focused on patient safety, documentation and shared decision-making. A GP normally needs GMC registration, a licence to practise, recognised postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience, and the right to work. Overseas doctors may require PLAB or another accepted route, English-language evidence and a Health and Care Worker visa; sponsorship should be confirmed with the employer. Relocation costs, housing and childcare are higher in London and parts of southern England, while northern England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland can offer lower living costs. Weather is changeable, and registration, tax, indemnity and NHS onboarding should be arranged before arrival.
